Original Starbucks

Pike Place Market in Seattle is the birth place of Starbucks. The first Starbucks store was opened there in 1971 and still serving coffee to customers. The logo is slightly different and you can find the evolution of the logo easily on the web. I visited Pike Place Market on a rainy day and found it to be lively. Here is a photo of what it looks like in front of the first Starbucks ever.

San Francisco Preview

I just loved the light in San Francisco. This is a scene from China Town of SF which is very busy during the day and less busy in evening. Also, there is a lot of people with fancy cameras, but I don't know how many of them were actually tourists and how many photographers or both. I will be posting the photos from SF in form of a photo essay soon. I am now working on what to include and what to exclude and how to order things. Doing street photography in a city like SF makes it definitely harder to come back to Edmonton. I think I am going to start a documentary project soon and be a bit less on streets to keep myself from freezing!

Feeding Seagulls

While visiting my sister in Seattle, we were walking around Puget Sound and found this place with a lot of seagulls. People were feeding them and seagulls were trying to steal food as soon as they get the chance. I visited San Francisco and Seattle and both of them are great cities for photography. San Francisco seems to be more culturally diverse and experiencing lots of tourists so it is sometimes hard to get away from tourist areas. Seattle seem to be culturally rich but in a different way. The hometown of Jimi Hendrix is full of art.

The best part of this trip was visiting my sister and visiting many good friends after 6 or 7 years. If I get a chance I will go back to these two cities to do more photography and enjoy great food.
