Scared Dog!

A street hockey tournament was held in Edmonton as part of the Deep Freeze festival to help creating stronger and safer communities. During one of the games a dog who was tied to a shop's sidewalk board got scared by the sound of players running into the fences, knocked down the sidewalk board, and made a scene. Substitute players of the teams tried to calm the dog and find the owner. The owner was found a little later and the dog was happy again.

Cowgirls Walking on Stilts

Cowgirls walk with stilts at the Deep Freeze festival in Edmonton, Alberta. These festivals are supported by the city of Edmonton to help create stronger and safer communities. This and Kaleido Festival were both held on 118th avenue. This street used to have a bad reputation according to the people whom I talked with; however, these programs are helping to bring a change. The city has also provided some tax cuts to the shops on this street to help them renovate to give the street a new look according to one of the members of this community.
